It was late 2005. Google had just breached through $400 a share and was soaked with media buzz, finding its way onto the cover of Business Week on a monthly basis. Facebook was a buggy, lackluster website restricted to college students. MySpace was still king, and Twitter was a mere sketch on a yellow notepad in California. This was the Internet economy Alypius was founded within. The online world has gone through several iterations in these past 5 years. Google now ranks pages differently. Getting on the first page requires a much more diverse and comprehensive strategy. Facebook and Twitter are now de facto requirements for marketing, corporate transparency, and showing customers that you "get it".
